As part of our 20th Birthday season, the Wilson Center is excited to welcome you to our inaugural lecture series celebrating Wisconsin art and artists! Designed to offer audiences a deeper look at different mediums, Arts A La Carte will expand your arts knowledge and give you intimate access to behind-the-scenes conversations within our vibrant arts and culture community.

The poet Mary Oliver said it most clearly; "Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” How would the richness of Life blossom and unfurl if we obeyed these simple directives? One woman has tried. By quitting a stable job in social work and choosing to backpack more than 2,000 miles of wilderness, Hannah Ricke has taken Mary Oliver's words to heart. Now a full-time artist, Hannah hopes to reveal the richness in hunting for Beauty, wherever that may lead. And the thrill in saying “Yes” to life.
