The Wilson Center is dedicated to extending the reach of the arts within local communities, schools, and classrooms. Whether it is a visit to your classroom from a professional artist to lead a cultural dance class or teambuilding through a school mural led by a Wilson Center teaching artist, ArtsReach programming inspires lifelong discovery and exploration of the arts.
ArtsReach programming is customized to build connections in the classroom and increase engagement through the arts. Through music, dance, and visual arts workshops and residencies, ArtsReach brings professional and teaching artists into communities and classrooms to help students to:
• Connect the arts across subjects and disciplines in the classroom
• Discover an appreciation for the arts
• Increase self-confidence and problem-solving skills
• Collaborate with diverse professional artists working in their field

Beyond the Wilson Center walls, ArtsReach provides organizations and schools in the greater southeastern Wisconsin community with engaging, hands-on experiences with professional local and visiting artists through:
In-School Residencies
Enrich your regular school curriculum and/or after school programming through the power of the arts! Multi-week programming allows students to engage with the local professional teaching artists in classes that vividly enhance students’ classroom experiences to inspire self-confidence, team building, and creative thinking through the arts. Programs can include, but are not limited to: murals, creative writing, music, dance, or performing arts.
Workshops and Master Classes
Each season, the Wilson Center provides a limited number of workshops and masterclasses with artists from our world-class Performing Arts Series. Puppet-making with touring theatre groups, jazz workshops with renowned musicians, dance classes with international dance companies, and more—students gain first-hand experience with professionals of the highest technical and artistic mastery in their field.
