SUSAN LUBAR
GROWING MINDS
Susan (Solvang) Lubar has been a pioneer in bringing strategies for mindful well-being to Milwaukee educators and community leaders. Her intention is to increase self-awareness, insight, and resilience by guiding individuals and organizations to cultivate skills that improve well-being and positively impact relationships. With her focus on southeastern Wisconsin, Susan and her Growing Minds team provide the tools for personal growth and more connected relationships, so individuals have more options to thrive, no matter their circumstances. Through Growing Minds, Susan has partnered with many organizations, including Medical College of Wisconsin, Children’s Wisconsin, Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Area Technical College, UW-Milwaukee, Lutheran Social Services, the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Her goal is to provide readily available resources to organizations in the Milwaukee Metropolitan area in the hopes of creating a more compassionate city. To further Susan’s efforts toward social justice, she currently serves on the Executive Committees of the MATC Foundation and the Jewish Museum of Milwaukee, where both aim to create awareness and education for building bridges and transformational opportunities. She also serves on the Board of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. Susan’s training includes UCSD Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher Training, multiple courses with Kristen Neff and Chris Germer in Mindful Self-Compassion/Teacher Training, and numerous certificates through Racial Allies and other mindfulness training. Susan’s favorite ways to spend time include walking the Ice Age Trail, cross-country and downhill skiing, preparing delicious meals from her summer vegetable garden, and time with her adult children and grandchild who are spread across the west coast.
