With his epic Symphony No. 9 in E minor “From the New World”, Antonin Dvořák called on American composers to proudly draw on their own material; here, beloved Spiritual singer Laura Snyder and Oneida Nation Storyteller Carol Smart help bring the New World’s origins to life. Chicago phenomenon Rachel Barton Pine, reprising her acclaimed recent Mozart concerto recordings with Sir Neville Marriner and the Academy of St. Martin in-the-Fields, playing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, rounds out what promises to be an extraordinary concert.
