Winner of two GRAMMY® Awards, the Turtle Island Quartet has been a singular force in the creation of bold, new trends in chamber music for strings. The quartet fuses classical quartet esthetics with contemporary American musical styles and stakes its claim as the quintessential American string quartet of the 21st Century. In their new program Have You Ever Been…?, TIQ ventures to Electric Ladyland, tackling works by legendary guitarist, songwriter and performer Jimi Hendrix, as well as other compositions reflective of and inspired by Hendrix’s music including Quartet founder David Balakrishnan’s new composition “Tree of Life.”
