Friday, July 6, 2012

Hailing from the Chicago area, Carey Ott got his big break when his demo was passed on to Dualtone Records. Carey, not missing a beat, moved to Nashville and got to work on the songs for his first release, Lucid Dream. It was around this time that his song "Am I Just One" was featured on an episode of the ABC television series Grey's Anatomy, providing Carey with a boost that launched him from the indie circuit into the mainstream. Much like his musical heroes, including John Lennon, Cat Stevens, and Bob Dylan, Carey has an intrinsic sense of melody.
