About the facility

at the Wilson Center

The Wilson Center has been the location for many events since opening its doors in 2002. THE ARCHITECTURE

The Engberg Anderson Design Partnership team of architects and interior designers provided the "lodge in the park" design to place the arts and your special event in a natural setting. Sited at the edge of the woods in the heart of Brookfield's Mitchell Park, the Wilson Center includes a 619-seat performance theater, Grand Hall with soaring 40-foot limestone fireplace, sculpture garden, art gallery, music and art classrooms, a dance studio, and a performance studio. An outdoor terrace provides a natural setting for al fresco performances. A park pavilion shelters pre-concert receptions; patrons will find ample, on-site parking. Two other outdoor settings offer a natural venue for performances and events.

A HOME FOR THE ARTS

Several professional arts groups have made the Wilson Center their permanent home for outreach programs in the Waukesha County area–Danceworks, Milwaukee Art Museum, First Stage Theater Academy and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.

Other partners such as the School District of Elmbrook are taking advantage of opportunities to attract new patrons and students with a variety of spaces under one roof.

Five Wisconsin artists were selected to create works of art that are integrated into the building's design, adding to the warm and welcoming ambiance. Two other works of art were donated to the Center by generous benefactors.
