Gabriel Kahane & Rob Moose Duo

“Gabriel Kahane is a one-man cultural Cuisinart.” —The New York Times

The New York Times declares that Gabriel Kahane’s music “absorbs everything from nineteen-twenties neoclassicism to blue-grass and modern indie pop with potent melodies bridging the disparate styles.” This accomplished songwriter, singer, pianist, composer, devoted amateur cook, guitarist, and occasional banjo player recently made his Carnegie Hall debut in a program devoted to his music. While he’s been commissioned to compose for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Kronos Quartet, and other world-renowned organizations, and has performed with internationally acclaimed artists ranging from Rufus Wainwright and Chris Thile to Jeremy Denk and composer/conductor John Adams, he is perhaps most recognized for his “Craigslistlieder”—a cycle of songs based on hilarious Craigslist posts. Rob Moose has established an exciting presence as performer, arranger and conductor in the atmosphere of contemporary music.  He has toured with Rufus Wainwright, Marianne Faithfull, and John Legend. In 2011, after writing the arrangements for their Grammy Award-winning album, Mr. Moose joined Bon Iver as violinist, guitarist, and singer, and has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues. Don’t miss this remarkable duo that defies musical boundaries.
